FY2017 Bomb Squad Initiative

The New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services is pleased to release $2 million dollars to support the New York State's 12 FBI-certified public safety Bomb Squads. Funding for this program will come from the 2017 State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) grant. This targeted funding is allocated regionally and is consensus-based. Funding is utilized to support the development and sustainment of counter-IED operations across the state.
Regional Spending Plans are due to DHSES by April 17, 2018.

FY2017 Critical Infrastructure Grant Program

The FY2017 Critical Infrastructure Grant Program (CIGP) is designed to support local first responder's efforts to mitigate risk and enhance protection capabilities at government owned critical infrastructure sites and special event sites. Funding for this program will come from the 2017 State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) grant. Projects that focus on Special Event Sites will be prioritized over Critical Infrastructure Sites for FY2017. Only units of local government (counties, cities, town and/or villages) within targeted counties will be eligible to apply for up to $50,000. The application must have been coordinated with at least two first responder agencies with prevention and/or protection responsibilities at the selected site. Agencies must be law enforcement, fire department, emergency management, or public works agencies.
Application deadline is April 17, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.
