New York State's Broadband Mapping Project
The New York State Office of Cyber Security (OCS) is participating in a nationwide initiative funded through the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), to map the availability of broadband (high-speed) Internet service across New York State. The process involves collecting, verifying, mapping and analyzing data obtained from each of the companies that offers broadband service to New York State customers. The results of this project will help policy makers in their efforts to increase the use and availability of broadband for all New York State residents and business owners. Service availability as provided and verified for the purposes of this project is available on our online, interactive NYS Broadband Map. Visitors to the site are able to query the map by street address to discover the types of broadband services available at any New York State location, with accompanying provider contact information. The participation of all of New York State's facilities-based broadband providers is an essential element toward the success of this project.
