Intelligence and Analysis Unit
About the Unit
The Intelligence Unit supports the Division's mission by gathering, analyzing and disseminating appropriate and timely information and intelligence regarding incidents, trends, or threats relating to terrorism that have implications for New York State. Customers include the Governor's Office, DHSES Executives, law enforcement, emergency management, managers of critical infrastructure, and the private sector. Additionally, the unit helps coordinate and facilitate information sharing among federal, state and local law enforcement agencies in cooperation with the NYSIC Counter Terrorism Center.
The Intelligence Unit provides analytical support to other OCT units, including Public Safety, Critical Infrastructure, Training & Exercise, and Grants. Specific program or program areas include: Operation Safeguard, critical infrastructure threat and risk analysis, threat-based training, and risk-based Homeland Security grant allocation.
