Heat Index Advisory

This heat index advisory applies to all training courses sponsored by OFPC

Listed below are links to weather information concerning the current weather and heat indexes. If the heat index in your area is 95 degrees or higher at the beginning of or during a class, all live fire training is suspended. If the heat index is between 85 and 94 degrees please insure that rest and cooling periods of 10 to 15 minutes are scheduled for each hour.

This policy is also in effect for all strenuous skills such as hose drags, ladders SCBA, mask confidence or obstacle course evolutions.

The key here is proper hydration, make sure your students consume adequate amounts of sports drinks or water.

Classroom sessions should continue as scheduled

This advisory remains in effect for the remainder of this week, July 9th to July 13th.
