Additionally, applying mitigation measures described in therein could reduce future flood damage.

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) Evaluating Water-Damaged Electrical Equipment guide focuses specifically on the evaluation process for determining if damaged electrical equipment can be reconditioned. It provides specific criteria and procedures for assessing the extent of water damage, to determine if damaged equipment can be used again, or if it must be replaced.
