ABOUT FIELD OPERATIONS
Field Operations acts as a liaison with local and county governments, emergency managers, and the general public. Field Operations provides comprehensive emergency management guidance and support to local governments while maintaining and providing situational awareness to State OEM Headquarters and Executive Staff.
Field Staff monitor the ice jams in the winter and spring seasons.
Field Staff participate in community outreach events to help educate the public about emergency preparedness.
Field Staff assist with regional operations during an incident.
Field Staff provide ongoing situational awareness to the State EOC.
Field Operations Responsibilities
Steady State
During Steady State Operations, Field Operations is responsible for providing ongoing situational awareness of any potential or actual incident, local response efforts, or response activities of State agencies. Field Operations is responsible for providing guidance and support to local government in developing and implementing emergency preparedness activities, strategies, and programs.
Emergency Response Activations
During Emergency Response Activations, Field Operations provides support to State and local Emergency Operations Centers in managing resources and mission requests. Field Operations is responsible for maintaining and providing situational awareness to State leadership.
