The goal of the symposium is to enhance health, wellness, and safety knowledge among emergency responders in the state and empower them to implement improvements for the well-being of their colleagues. Technical Rescue Leadership Forum

The objectives of the leadership forum are to provide Technical Rescue Team leaders with information to assist in the development & sustainment of technical rescue teams, provide an opportunity for networking and information sharing with other team leaders, and to develop connections between team leaders and OFPC.  Information will be provided on Technical Rescue Team Accreditation program, Technical Rescue Grants, Technical Rescue Training programs, The NYS Statewide Fire Mutual aid and Mobilization plan, Planning for Technical rescue incidents, and other technical rescue concerns. Technical Rescue Conference

The conference is open to all responders and includes lectures and practical skill sessions in a variety of subjects including rope, confined space, structural collapse, water, vehicle, machinery and trench rescue as well as incident & team management training. Registration opens on 2/27/2026.

Disability Awareness for the Fire Service

Disability Awareness for the Fire Service provides emergency responders with essential foundational knowledge of several types of disabilities including Autism, Physical Disabilities, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Developmental Disabilities. This program is designed to offer basic tips to responder to make their interactions with individuals with disabilities as safe and effective as possible, while considering the specific needs of the individual encountered and how to best support them.
