The goal of the symposium is to enhance health, wellness, and safety knowledge among emergency responders in the state and empower them to implement improvements for the well-being of their colleagues. The New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control (OFPC) is proud to announce the 37th Annual New York State Weekend at the National Fire Academy (NFA).

May 29 - June 1, 2025

The conference is open to all responders and includes lectures and practical skill sessions in a variety of subjects including rope, confined space, structural collapse, water, vehicle, machinery and trench rescue as well as incident & team management training. This conference takes place at the State Preparedness Center in Oriskany, NY.

Disability Awareness for the Fire Service provides emergency responders with essential foundational knowledge of several types of disabilities including Autism, Physical Disabilities, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Developmental Disabilities. This program is designed to offer basic tips to responder to make their interactions with individuals with disabilities as safe and effective as possible, while considering the specific needs of the individual encountered and how to best support them.
